Do you ever get to a gathering and there are no healthy foods?!?! It’s all fatty and sugary and soooo tempting.
It’s hard to resist ALL the yummy, not-so-good-for-you things. So, why not bring something that is also super yummy that is actually good for you?
When someone invites you to a party or gathering offer to bring a dish to share. If they refuse, tell them you are really trying to watch what you eat, and you would be honored if they would allow you to bring something for yourself and enough to share. More times than not your host will graciously allow you to bring a dish to share!
Plus, others will see you bringing, eating, and enjoying healthier food, and that may influence them to think about their habits as well. Look at all the encouragement and positivity you can share simply by bringing a healthy dish!
Here are a few ideas for healthy dishes to take to gatherings and holiday parties:
- Roasted veggies (think carrots, beets, butternut squash, peppers, onions…)
- Sliced tomato and fresh mozzarella drizzled with balsamic vinegar
- Fresh, colorful salad with olive oil and lemon juice for the dressing
- Cucumber, lemon, and mint infused water
- Energy bites sweetened with honey
Do a simple search on Pinterest and you can find recipes for all these ideas and many, many more healthy holiday dishes.
